PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I want to welcome each of you to our school web page. I am excited to be
the new principal at Weaver. I look forward to continuing the many fine programs
that are already in place to further our students’ education and expand them to
further improve our students educational experience. I consider it a privilege
to be a part of a caring concerned staff that has the best interest of all
students in mind. The faculty and staff at Weaver are an outstanding and caring
group of people who have the best interest of the student in mind with each
decision.
We have many exciting opportunities for students to achieve and learn here
at Weaver. The students are involved in a rigorous reading and literacy program
designed to help all students grow and succeed in their reading abilities.
Students are also challenged in math instruction as well as library, music,
physical education, social living and science. It is our belief at Weaver that
all children can learn and deserve the best opportunity to do just that. Our
staff is involved in ongoing training for literacy through ELFA and DIBELS.
Members of our faculty are also very involved with LASARD which deals with
teaching autistic children. We are also increasing our technology at Weaver to
allow more opportunities for students and teachers to use technology in the
classroom. As you can see the faculty and staff are very involved in developing
themselves professionally to better teach the students.
As parents, grandparents, and others involved in students education, your
role is very important. Read with your child daily or have them read to you.
Keep up with your children by asking them what they learned at school each day,
corresponding with teachers through the agendas and other forms that teacher
send home and attend parent teacher conferences. Another thing we stress is
safety and while the carline rules, walking rules, change of pickup or checkout
procedures may take a little time, they are there to protect your children. That
is why we ask that all involved please follow these rules and help us keep
children safe.
In conclusion, Weaver is an excellent school with outstanding teachers and
staff. We invite you to come by and visit or check on your children's progress,
all we ask is that when you come on campus, please stop by the office and get a
visitor tag. To see a teacher for conference please ask to come by on their
planning time. Thank you for visiting our page and let's all of us do our part
to make this year great.
