Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
PTO News!
We know that parental involvement is very important to you so we are extending an
opportunity to all parents, guardians, friends, and community members of the Mighty
Knights to become active members of our Parent Teacher Organization.
The next scheduled PTO meeting is to be announced. Once announced, see you at the next meeting!
Box Tops For Education
We are collecting Box Tops to earn cash for our school. Get involved by clipping Box Tops from hundreds of participating products ranging from baking, beverages, cereal, frozen goods, meals and sides, refrigerated and dairy, snacks, baby and child care, storage bags and containers, paper products, personal care, disposable tableware and waste bags, and products with limited availability, such as fresh bread. Each Box Top is worth 10 cent. Parent, Ms. Emily Firman, is this year's Box Tops Coordinator. Follow this link, boxtops4education for more great ideas to earn cash for our school. Additionally, there is a box in the main office where these coupons can be placed. Start clipping and sending your collections in today! This is a PTO sponsored program.
School Spirit T-Shirts
School Spirit shirts have arrived and they look great. (see below) It's not too late to purchase a school spirit t-shirt. Orders will continue to be taken until further notice. Please contact the school to place your order. This is also a PTO sponsored activity.

Parent-Teacher Communication
All students have been issued an agenda which includes grade level expectations,
school rules and procedures, and the NPSB Student Handbook. Please take time to
read and discuss this information with your child. This agenda will be your parent-teacher
communication tool. This agenda should be checked daily for notes and information.
**NPSB Handbook, (297kb), will open in PDF file in a new browser window.
Morning Arrival
Instruction begins at 7:50 a.m. Students who arrive after 8:10 a.m. need a tardy slip before going to class. Breakfast ends at 7:45 a.m. Please understand that students arriving after 7:45 a.m. are not allowed to eat breakfast.
Early Checkout
We encourage you to allow your child to remain at school until
2:50 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. which is the final dismissal bell. Students that frequently check
out early miss valuable classroom instruction, especially students in grades 3-8. Students
are not allowed to makeup this work, unless there is a valid excuse.
Changes in Transportation
We will accept a signed note any time a change is made regarding bus, car pick-up or any other changes to a student's normal routine for being delivered home each afternoon. We are sure you will agree that you do not want anyone to be able to call the school, change the address your child goes to, the bus your child rides, or the person picking up your child. Please send a signed note with your child to school if you wish to make any changes. In the event of an emergency, you may fax us at 318-357-1948 or bring a note to our office. If a child does not have a signed parent note, they will be sent home by their normal dismissal way. A telephone call told to the teacher or call to the office is not acceptable.
