LOUISIANA TEACHER OF THE YEAR PROGRAM!
Each year, the Louisiana Teacher of the Year Program, recognizes and honors outstanding teachers statewide at the elementary,
middle, and high school level from each local school system.
Such teacher should be a classroom teacher in any state-approved or accredited public school, Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, hold a full state certification, and plan to continue to be active in the
teaching role of the classroom.
At the district level, the superintendent selects three candidates, one at each level, to compete at the Regional Level, and if chosen, to later compete at the State Level.
