What's New at LPV?
L. P. Vaughn has SmartBoard technology in every classroom.
Students use the interactive boards to practice skills with hands-on activities. Teachers implement the interactive boards to enhance instruction and make learning fun and memorable for students.
L.P. Vaughn students also use Dana Smart word processors for research and reports.
Students have access to two computer lab settings for skill practice and research projects.
Teachers use clickers to quickly assess student understanding. Document Cameras are used in instruction to use additional information on text to model or enhance learning.
LPV has also implemented PBS (Positive Behavior Support) schoolwide.
Students track their behavior using a tracking form.
Good behavior has rewards including peer helpers, free time at centers, computer time, concessions,field trips, special recognition, dress down days, and special treats from the principal. The PBS team is frequently meeting to come up with new ideas to motivate our students such as honoring students each week. Of course bad behavior also has its consequences.
