PBS
Lakeview High School will continue to provide students with the opportunity to attend school in a safe and orderly environment conducive to student success.
Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) is a research-proven approach used to eliminate challenging behaviors and replace them with proactive skills.

Use of PBS decreases the need for negative interventions (i.e., write-ups, etc.) and replaces them with a system that rewards positive behavior and "doing the right thing".

Our SWAMP plan:
S - Strive for Excellence
W - Work Cooperatively
A - Act Responsibly
M - Maintain Respect
P - Problem Solve
As part of the PBS system, teachers give out Gator coins to students "caught" doing the right thing. In turn, the students can cash their money in for privileges such as:
Moving to the front of the lunch/concession line
Wearing hats, sunglasses, etc.
Buying things at the Swamp Shack (pencils, notebooks, Rubik's cubes)
Students are also rewarded for their attendance, timeliness (lack of tardies), and good behavior with movie days, special breakfasts, and other lucky benefits.

Academic Celebration
Every 4 ½ weeks, Lakeview High School awards students for their academic achievement. Students who earn over a 3.0 for the 4 ½ weeks are rewarded with an ice cream party. Over 200 students were rewarded for their grade point average for the grading period.
